From India's Kitchens to Coventry's Tables

Every dish at The Tiffin Box carries a memory — of family kitchens across India, recipes passed down without being written, and a dream to bring that warmth to Coventry. This is where it began.

A Heritage Rooted in Kerala

Long before The Tiffin Box opened its doors at The Butts, our journey began in Kerala — God's Own Country, and one of the world's great spice regions. Kerala produces much of the world's black pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon, and its cuisine reflects centuries of trade, culture, and tradition.

But for us, spices were never just an export. They were the smell of home, the foundation of family recipes, and the starting point for everything we cook today. That heritage shaped the kitchen we've built in Coventry.

A Pan-Indian Vision

While our roots are in Kerala, our menu reaches across the whole of India. We bring together the coconut-rich curries of the south, the tandoor-cooked classics of the north, the bold spices of Rajasthan, and the seafood traditions of Bengal — all under one roof.

Our kitchen team takes pride in real ingredients, traditional technique, and genuine care, with nothing artificial standing in the way of authentic flavour. Every dish is prepared fresh, daily, using natural ingredients and no artificial colours.

Why Coventry

The Tiffin Box was built on a simple belief: that Coventry deserved more than the same ten curries served at every Indian restaurant in the city. It deserved the real thing — dishes that taste exactly as they do in the regions they come from, served in a space built for both quiet dinners and big celebrations.

A Home at The Butts

Since opening at 7-9 The Butts, Coventry CV1 3GJ, that vision has grown into a 350-cover restaurant, three bars, a rooftop Terrace, and a private events space. We're proud to be rated 4.6 stars across more than 1,200+ Google reviews, with a 5-star food hygiene rating from Coventry City Council.

The Spices Behind
Every Dish

Kerala remains one of the world's great spice regions, and that heritage runs through our kitchen every single day. These aren't decorative facts on a page — they're what's in the pan, every service, every night.

  • Black Pepper Known as the "King of Spices," used to build depth in our curries and marinades.
  • Cardamom The "Queen of Spices," essential to our biryanis and desserts.
  • Cinnamon Warm and aromatic, central to our slow-cooked curries.
  • Curry Leaves The defining note in authentic Kerala fish and chicken curries.
